Happy American Thanksgiving 2010

We spent the weekend celebrating the American Thanksgiving. This was Paige’s first thanksgiving holiday and since she is American we decided it was important for her to see what it is all about. Daddy had to work but we were invited to our friends the Prudhomme’s house for dinner. We had an amazing turkey dinner with lots of great fixin’s and I got to play with Sadie and Kahla it was perfect!!!

We did manage to get in a very quick visit with Daddy and bring him some of the yummy leftovers for his dinner. Daddy was also working on the Saturday of the holiday weekend so Mommy, Paige and I decided to take off for the night to Pigeon Forge. We went to Dollywood which is a lot like Canada’s wonderland, it was so much fun.

Paige took a little nap in our stroller while I went on a whole bunch of fun kids rides.

CIMG2326

We also got to ride on a real coal choo-choo train that took us for a ride up the mountain, it was beautiful.

Here is a picture Mommy took of her and Paige sitting on the train, she did a pretty good job!

And here is a picture of me on the train, I had so much fun!

CIMG2286 We got to go in to Santa’s workshop but he was out feeding his reindeer so I didn’t get to see him but I did write him a letter and drop it in his mail box. I also got to play in the workshop and colour on this jumbo colouring book.

After we were all done at the park we went up the mountain to a cabin that we rented for one night. It was a spectacular cabin, it was built on a creek and had some really neat things. My bedroom had its own fireplace, TV and king size bed, it was so cool. Oh and my room had a bathroom with a tub with water that came out of the wall like a fountain!

CIMG2333 Once Paige and I were in bed, Mommy got to relax in the hot tub before crashing for a good nights sleep!

CIMG2329

When we got back this afternoon we decided it was time to turn our house into a Christmas wonderland. Daddy and I put up the lights outside and then we helped Mommy decorate the christmas tree. We have so many cool christmas ornaments, it was lots of fun to look at all of them. Best of all Mommy made us some yummy hot chocolate, it was the perfect night!

Winter in Tennessee…not quite!

Well last weekend we woke up to a winter wonderland, it was unbelievable. Mommy and daddy came into my room and opened my blinds and all I could muster was “Oh my gosh, snow!”. We got all bundled up and headed out to play, it was so much fun. It didn’t last long though, by 10:30 am it was all gone and we hit 70 degrees that day, go figure. Our weather has actually been very nice, I love it!

Gigi bought me a new snowsuit for this winter at the end of last season and it is very pretty and it kept me nice and warm. It sort of matches Paige’s snowsuit too. This was Paige’s very first time seeing snow, she was so cute, she wasn’t too sure what to make of it.

Daddy had to pose Paige and I in front of the hockey net because one day he told me they are going to hang up this picture of the two of us in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Daddy thinks Paige and I are going to be great hockey players one day…!!!

We even managed to gather up enough snow to make a snowman, his name was Frosty. We got him all dressed and then I accidentally knocked him over and that was it, poor guy!

We laid Paige down in the snow beside Frosty and she didn’t know what to do, so she just closed her eyes and pretended to take a nap, silly girl!

DSC_0322Last weekend I went to an awesome birthday party for my friend Ella. She had it a dance studio in town and it was a “Girls Only” party. Everybody wore dance dresses and we danced like crazy, ate lots of cake and had tons of fun.

Check out the video Mommy took of me and my friends learning a dance from the instructor, I think we did pretty good.

This week Mommy, Paige and I have been having a great time playing at home. Daddy has been very busy studying for a big exam he had to take on Thursday and Friday for his Medical boards, so we have been entertaining ourselves. Here we are getting ready for our bath and being silly!

On Wednesday night this week we got a big suprise, Granny and Pop-Pop were here. They drove all the way from Canada and are now here in Tennessee to visit with us for a little while. We have been playing lots and enjoying the beautiful weather. We spent the day at their RV yesterday, it was lots of fun.

Halloween 2010

We had a jam packed fun couple of days during halloween. I was not afraid of anything, mommy and daddy kept telling me what a “good big girl” I was. I had lots of fun dressing up in my Jessie (Toy Story) costume and having my baby sister Paige dressed as my horse named Bullseye.

Our halloween celebrations started off on Thursday at my school where we had a party and mommy, daddy and Paige came to celebrate. We played games, got buckets full of candy and treat bags with toys and candy from our teachers, it was great.

CIMG2102Here I am in my classroom with some of my friends eating our lunch!

CIMG2109

This is Riley, he is the oldest one in our class, he will be three at the end of November. Riley and I are the leaders and we like to help the teachers with the younger kids, they tell us we are great “big helpers”!CIMG2113

If Daddy looks a little tired in this picture it’s because he had to work all night the night before and was functioning on only 2 hrs of sleep and I am very happy he made it to my party, thanks Dad!!!

CIMG2114

That night we got to get all dressed up and head off to the hospital for their trunk or treat in the parking lot. We first went up to the Peds floor and said Hi to all the nurses and other doctors that daddy works with and then we got to go and trick or treat for candy. There were lots of people telling Paige and I how cute we looked, we were a big hit!!!

Here I am waiting in line at the hospital for our turn to get some candy…

Here is a picture we took with Buzz lightyear, he is Dr. Bala’s son, she works with Daddy!

On Friday night when Daddy got home from work we got bundled up and went outside to carve our pumpkin. It was starting to get chilly at night but it is still beautiful during the day, I love it! Since I am getting so big, Daddy actually let me help him carve with a non-sharp tool and scoop out the seeds. Then Mommy and I cleaned off the seeds and cooked them in the oven, they were delicious.

Then Saturday was the big day, yes Saturday the 30th, not the 31st. Down here in the South they don’t trick or treat on the Sabbath, or at least that is what we think, nobody could really give us a good reason about why we weren’t doing it on Sunday! It was a gorgeous night, we got together with all of our neighborhood friends and we had tons of fun. I loved running from door to door saying “Trick or Treat” and “Thank you”, it was fantastic, I can’t wait for next year.

DSC_0198

Daddy dressed up as Frankenstein and it didn’t scare me one bit! My friends Ava and Sophia looked so cute, they were dressed as Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Suess. Poor things they were afraid of lots of stuff that night!

DSC_0202 DSC_0213

DSC_0209 Ella and Fisher’s daddy tried to scare all of us with his Gorilla costume, but it only scared Ava and Sophia. Look at Ella in this picture, she was trying to beat him up.

DSC_0219 The next couple of pics are quite redneck, you can’t get much more redneck than a man in a Gorilla costume frying a turkey with a 3 year old watching and a man with a beer walking with a baby while trick or treating!!!!

DSC_0225 DSC_0235

Here are a few pics of me when I was trick or treating, I went up to the doors all by myself with just my friends. Everytime I got a candy I would go running to mommy and tell her how happy I was…she would just laugh!

We also got to bob for apples after we were done trick or treating. Kara hung the apples from the tree and we were suppose to close our eyes and put our hands behind our back. I had a hard time keeping my hands back but I did it!

The next day on actual Halloween we went to a Halloween/Birthday party for my friend Ellie, she turned 3. We don’t have any pics from the party, I think Mommy was pictured out!!!

The last thing I wanted to post for everyone to see is a video that Daddy took of my last night after dinner. I learned the Pledge of Allegiance at school and I recited it during dinner. I get hooked up on a few words but with some help I can say the whole thing, not bad for a Canadian Girl!!!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Emmie and Paige
