Gigi is here, Gigi is here…vacation here we come!

Yes Gigi is here…she arrived last wednesday on a really big airplane. We were all really excited she was finally here because it meant we got to go on a really nice winter vacation. Gigi treated us to a vacation at a place in Virginia called Massanutten and there was tons of stuff to do!

Where do I begin…first things first…Gigi brought Paige and I our princess tent that we left behind at christmas, we love it!!!

Gigi, Mommy, Paige and I left for vacation a few hours before daddy because he had to work. The first thing we did after we arrived at our condo was go swimming in a really nice pool. Paige and I loved the water, we swam like fish!

CIMG2634

Our condo was fantastic, it was huge…Gigi and I got to share a room with two beds and Paige got to sleep in one of the two very big bathrooms just off of the room that Mommy and Daddy had with a huge bed. The condo was just perfect for all of us!

Check out the huge bathtub, it was big enough that I could swim in it!!!

The next day once Daddy arrived we went to this huge indoor waterpark, there was so much to do there. Paige and I loved it and I think the rest of them did as well. Mommy kept taking Daddy and Gigi on the big waterslides!

While at the waterpark we decided to have dinner there at this huge buffet, it was delicious. The best part of dinner was the huge ice cream sundae I got to have when I ate all my dinner!

CIMG2663

CIMG2666

I even agreed to share some of my sundae with my baby sister…I think she really liked it!

CIMG2668

One day when I was on my nap, Gigi and Mommy took baby Paige and then went on a wine tour and tasting. It sounds like they had a great time, Paige made friends with everyone, they kept saying she was “so cute”, guess they are right!

CIMG2657

That is a whole lot of wine, bet you Mommy wishes she could have brought all of it home with her…hehe!

CIMG2658

Mommy and Gigi were suprised to know that Virginia is the 5th largest producer of wine in the United States. This winery was in the Shenandoah Valley, it was called CrossKeys and it had some very yummy wine, or so that is what Gigi and Mommy told me!!!

CIMG2660

Next on our adventure was snow tubing and what an experience it was. I officially love snow tubing, it was fantastic. I got to sit in my own tube and then have it tethered to either Mommy, Daddy or Gigi, I took turns with each of them.

IMG_4974 It was pretty cold out that day and unless you were moving around it just wasn’t fun to be outside so that meant Paige spent most of her time inside the chalet. She was entertaining all the ladies inside!!!

IMG_4977

After our fun day of snowtubing we went back to our condo and had a huge cheese and oil fondue, we ate for at least 2 hours, it was super yummy!

CIMG2678

Day #4 of our vacation was one that came completely unexpected to all of us…late the night before Mommy and Daddy decided we should get up early in the morning and head to Washington D.C. It was a 2 hour drive and we spent the whole day there, it was fantastic. We all enjoyed getting to see the Nation’s capital, kind of weird that we are also moving to the capital of Canada!

Now one thing we didn’t know before going to Washington D.C. was on Monday Jan. 24th there were going to be thousands of protestors there. They were protesting the “Right to Life”…luckily they didn’t get in our way too much!

CIMG2719

There is so much to do in Washington and since we were only there for the day we did what we could and decided that we definitely have to go back. We visited 4 museums and walked outside by the Capitol building, the Botanical Gardens and the Washington Monument, it was a wonderful day!

CIMG2766

The first museum we visited was the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. We ate lunch there…the cafeteria is known for its variety and 5 different American Indian cuisines, it was really yummy.

CIMG2715

Next up was the Air and Space Museum, it was super cool. There were huge airplanes hanging from the ceiling, we touched a moon rock and got to walk inside a space shuttle. Did you know that astronauts sleep standing up? I was amazed at that!!!

Poor Paige, she got really tired after just our first museum…she slept the whole time we were in the Air and Space museum but she woke up once we hit the cold air again outside! She was actually a great trooper for our field trip day, thanks Paige!!! I can’t wait to go back once we are both a little older.

CIMG2731

Musuem #3 was the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, this is where they filmed the movie the “Night at the Museum”. I think this was my favorite museum, they had tons of animals and dinosaurs, it was super cool!

The last museum on our list was the Smithsonian Museum of American History. We got there shortly before they closed and luckily we got to go and hang out in their kids fun zone, there were tons of things for Paige and I to play with!

CIMG2768

Look at what Daddy helped me make, it spells my name “Emmie”!

 CIMG2783

CIMG2778

After our long, yet fun day exploring Washington we went out for dinner and then we drove back to our condo. We tried to drive by the Whitehouse on our way out of town but it was all blocked off for a special event, there were secret service people everywhere, oh well, maybe next time!

Day #5 was our big ski day and it was the best day of all to go skiing. It felt like spring skiing, the weather was fantastic and the ski conditions were great. I had the best ski day I have every had…check out the video of my skiing!

I got to go skiing with Mommy, Daddy and Gigi, it was a wonderful day. I can’t wait to go again! By the end of the day I made it down the hill without falling at all.

Now I don’t know if you can see in the background but there really isn’t much snow on the ground, well actually there was none on Tuesday, just on the ski hill. Now on Wednesday this huge storm came in and we woke up to this on the day we left, we got 13 inches of snow and it fell in just 4 hours.

We had a wonderful vacation and we owe Gigi a big “THANK YOU”!

Now it is time to get ready for my 3rd birthday, in just three days I will be three years old. I can’t wait! I promise to post pics as soon as I can!!!

Good night y’all,

Snow, Snow and more snow…it is starting to feel a lot like Canada!

Yes you read the title right, we have had snow almost everyday for the past week. My school has been closed everyday except one since we got back from Canada. Something tells me this is how we are being prepped for the cold and snowy winters in Ottawa…just a thought! We have been trying our best to get outside and play in the snow on those days that aren’t too cold.

Last Friday Mommy took Paige and I out to play in our backyard and build a snowman, I made the middle part all by myself, yeah me!!!

CIMG2545

CIMG2548

CIMG2558

Paige and I were having so much fun playing in the snow together! I keep telling Mommy and Daddy that Paige and I are “best friends”.

CIMG2559

This was Paige’s first time crawling around in the snow and it was a beautiful day, I think she really liked it. She even tried to eat the snow, silly girl!!!

CIMG2564

CIMG2569

Mommy tried pulling us around in our wagon but the snow kept jamming up our wheels, I think we really need to get a sled, especially if this snow continues to fall!

This past Saturday we decided to get up really early and head out to a ski hill in North Carolina, about 1 1/2 hours from our house. We went with a few of our friends, including one of my good friends Kayla. It was Kayla’s first time ever on skis and she did really well. Check out my cool helmet cover, it is a princess tiara with a veil, I had lots of people telling me how cute I looked!!!

CIMG2584

CIMG2581

I went up on a chairlift for my very first time and I did it just like a big girl, I got on and off without any troubles. Here is a pic Mommy took of the two of us on the chair lift together.

CIMG2580

Here is Kayla skiing with her mommy, she really enjoyed it and we hope we can go again this year before the winter is over!

CIMG2588

Check out what our van looked like after being parked in the parking lot at the ski hill for 5 hours, it was covered, it didn’t stop snowing the entire time we were there, it was amazing and the ski conditions were fantastic!

CIMG2592

I got to have a sleep over on Saturday night at my house with my friends Ella and Fisher, both of them…I am a very lucky little girl! We had Ella and Fisher over for a movie and then we asked our Mommies if it was okay and they said “yes”. We all slept in my big queen sized bed together and we listened really well, we didn’t wake up till 8:30 am the next morning!

CIMG2595

Daddy was on-call the next morning so it was just us kids and Mommy, that is right 3 toddlers and a baby…hmmm! Mommy made us a big breakfast, it was very yummy and then we played all morning, it was so much fun. I owe Mommy a big thank you for letting me have my friends over “THANK YOU MOMMY”!

CIMG2596

CIMG2599

Check out the video that Mommy took of Fisher, Ella and I playing make believe, Ella and I are princesses in need of being rescued by the strong Indian Chief!!! (Don’t tell Fisher but that outfit he is wearing really isn’t an indian chief it is Pocahontas…shhh)

I woke up to more snow falling this morning and I kept begging Mommy to take me outside to play but Paige isn’t feeling well so I had to wait for daddy to get home. Luckily daddy got home early and we were able to go out and play together. We built “friendship mountain” just like they have on Dora. It was pretty cold out so we didn’t last too long…mommy made us hot chocolate with marshmallows to help warm us up!!!

CIMG2606

CIMG2607

Well that is all for now from Tennessee. We hear that Toronto is finally getting some snow and some freezing cold temps…keep warm and be safe!

Love y’all
