Life in Ottawa – Busy, Busy, Busy…

Well I know I promised to blog more frequently but time is just flying by! Life has been very busy, with Daddy starting his new job and Mommy in training for her job. We have been back and forth between Ottawa and Mississauga. Both Gigi and Auntie Carrie have been taking care of us, it has been lots of fun! Last week Auntie Carrie had us for three full days in a row while Mommy was out of town and we really like having her watch us!!!

Here we are having fun at Auntie Carrie’s house with Sophie in their backyard, the weather has been fantastic here in Ottawa.

On Canada Day weekend both Auntie Amy and Uncle Ryan came all the way from Toronto to visit us. It was a wonderful weekend. We got together with all the Weagant’s as well. On Canada Day we decided to pack up and head to Parliament Hill and try to see Prince William and Princess Catherine. There were tons of people, it was very busy but we had a great time. We saw the big snowbird jets fly right over top of us and they did a 21 canon salute when the Prince and Princess arrived, it was so neat!

We were all dressed up in Red and White and everyone got Canadian flags painted on our faces and had Poutine from a chip wagon, it was a very Happy Canada day! Auntie Amy even bought me this really cool “Silly Hat”, I saw lots of kids wearing them and I asked if she would buy me one and she did, lucky me!

Now if you look really close at the picture below at the big screen you will see Princess Catherine, she is in the red hat!

Paige was pretty tired after our long day in the sun and she fell asleep in the backpack carrier. It looks like she is still awake in the picture but she isn’t, she is sleeping with her eyes partially open, kind of creepy!

Later that night we went out to Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie’s house, we had a nice dinner and saw some fireworks. The fireworks were set off at a big park where a band called “Sloan” was playing, I don’t them but everyone else seemed to and there was also a midway, I got to go on a whole bunch of rides, it was a fantastic night!

The entire weekend we had wonderful weather so Daddy and Uncle Ryan got all of our kids toys setup. They put together the swing set that Gigi and Papa bought for us and Paige and I love it. They also setup our kiddie pool and in just a few short hours the water was already warm, so we did lots of swimming! Paige and I love being outside.

All in all we had a great weekend with everyone, it was the first Canada day that both Paige and I have ever celebrated in Canada! Can’t wait for next year.

Right now Gigi is here in Ottawa with us and will be watching Paige and I all week and I am sure it will be lots of fun. On friday she took us to a play center, today we went to the Byward Market and I think on Monday we are going to go to a zoo!

Time for bed, hope everyone has a great night!

Love y’all,

Emmie and Paige
