Fun Times with Gigi in Tennessee

Gigi came down to Tennessee to visit us and babysit Paige and I while Mommy went away on a much needed vacation. Mommy went to Las Vegas with two of her best friends, Auntie’s Amy and Sarah! Sounds like they had a great time, I know Paige and I had tons of fun with Gigi, she is awesome!!!

Here is a few pics from Mommy's trip, lots of smiles and good times, so glad they had fun for Auntie Sarah's 30th birthday. I sure hope when I turn 30 I can go to Vegas to celebrate!!!

While Mommy was gone Paige and I spent lots of time playing with all the new toys Gigi brought down for us, it felt like Christmas!!! She brought me this really need Play-Doh that you can eat, it is called Yummy Dough. I thought it tasted great, but Daddy and Gigi didn’t seem to like it as much as me!!!

Since Gigi and Daddy drove down in the minivan from Grandmere they had lots of room to bring things with them. I must say "thanks" to Grandmere for her minivan, Paige and I love it!!! I also have to say "thanks" to my cousin Patsy who sent something down for me that she found at St. Jacob's, my very own "Time Out" chair, it is so cute. I try not to go to time out very often but sometimes I do!

Before Mommy left we got to spend some time with both Gigi and Mommy. One night when Daddy was on-call, Paige, Gigi, Mommy and I decided to head to a concert at the fair, we saw Danny Gokey from American Idol, it was my very first concert and I loved it. I danced, I sang and had lots of fun! The following night we went back to the fair with Daddy and did tons of different rides, thanks to Gigi for treating us to a fun night at the fair!!!

We took a funny picture together, what do you think, we are all different animals, it made me laugh when I saw the picture, hehe...! We also got to see a bunch of animals at the wildlife center, it was really neat.

I was also very lucky because I got to get my face painted. The lady asked me where I wanted my rainbow and I told her to put it on my forehead, Daddy tried to convince me to put it on my cheek but I had my mind made up. Doesn't it look nice!!!

CIMG1622

I got to ride on Daddy's shoulders so baby Paige could sleep in the stroller, she took a nice long nap at the fair and then when she woke up, she was super happy! I think she liked all the flashing lights and people to look at.

It wouldn't be an American fair without the National Guard being present trying to recruit people, yikes...

CIMG1621

I think my favorite ride at the fair was the big huge slide that I went on with both Daddy and Mommy. I kept wanting to go on it again and again! Now Mommy took a video but she forgot you can't turn the camera sideways, so you have to watch this one on an angle, silly mommy...

CIMG1638

Well, that is all for now, I have to go and take a nap! We just dropped Gigi off at the airport, she is flying home to Toronto today, she really misses Papa and Uncle Ryan and we are really going to miss her. But Mommy tells me that in just over 3 weeks we will be driving to Canada for another visit, I can't wait.

Love y'all

Part 2 – Visit with Pop-Pop

The day before Pop-Pop arrived here in Tennessee our air conditioner broke and boy was it hot. Our weather has been well above 90 every day for the past 49 days in a row, so you can imagine how hot it was in our house when the air didn’t work. It seemed to really bother Mommy and Daddy but I managed. It didn’t stop me from getting all dressed up in my princess outfit. I think you can see the beads of sweat on my face…

DSC_0242DSC_0238

Baby Paige preferred to have only her diaper on. Her new favorite thing to play with is her toes, it is so cute to watch her!

Baby Paige has a fan on the ceiling in her room so we spent some time playing in there. Mommy let me get into her crib with her and play with her, it was lots of fun.

Guess what…I now like to eat eggs, all thanks to my cousin Heidi. When Heidi was here she had eggs one morning and she showed me how yummy they really are. Now I ask Mommy to make me scrambled eggs every once in a while for breakfast, with a little bit of ketchup for dipping! Mommy was shocked…Pop-Pop and I had eggs a couple of times when he was here!

DSC_0247

Even though the air conditioning is now working in the house you can’t stay indoors all day…so Pop-Pop had a great idea, lets go to a waterpark. Luckily we have one only about 20 mins from our house and off we went. We all really enjoyed it, even baby Paige.   Check out the videos of Paige and I at the water park!

The water park was really neat, lots of stuff for kids my age to do, I hope Mommy and Daddy take me back again. I swam for at least 3 hours and I did it all by myself!!!

DSCN4864

Baby Paige got tired when we were at the park so she took a nap with Daddy, or shall I say, on Daddy!

One day when Pop-Pop was here he took Paige and I out shopping and bought us each a new toy. Paige got some really neat busy balls that I think she is really going to like once she can sit up all by herself…shouldn’t be too long before that happens. I picked out a super cool Play-Doh kit, it has tons of underwater cut outs and animals, I love it.

Pop-Pop spent a couple of hours outside with me one day playing Play-Doh. He also did lots of colouring with me, we sat at the kitchen table one night and coloured in my big Tinkerbell colouring book. He is pretty good at colouring!!! Baby Paige likes to watch me colour, she isn’t big enough yet to do it herself, I can’t wait till we can colour together!

DSCN4894

DSCN4897

Pop-Pop likes to keep busy so when he was here he helped Mommy and Daddy out with a few house chores. One of them included washing the cars! I decided to help out for a little while and it felt pretty good to get wet with the hose because it is so hot. Mommy told us we did a really good job cleaning! Baby Paige and Mommy stayed inside while we did all the hard work outside…

DSC_0256 DSC_0253

After we finished the car we were super hot which meant we got to go swimming in the pool. I can’t even begin to explain how much I love my pool, it is awesome. Mommy and Pop-Pop even cleaned it out and filled it with fresh water, just perfect!!!

On Pop-Pop’s last day here we decided to go out on a Sunday family hike. It was overcast and we headed out nice and early to Buffalo Mountain. We had a great hike and saw lots of cool things.

 DSCN4886

First things first, we went looking for a Geocache. Not sure if all of you have heard of this, it is called Geocaching. You look up where you are going on this geocaching website and you can find out if there is something hidden at that location. Then you have to decrypt the exact location and try to find it. We found the geocache on the mountain in an old tree stump just like the message said. I got to take out a trinket and we put one in the box, I put in one of my penguins from McDonald’s and I took out a red die!!!

DSCN4879

Then we headed out on our hike and I found two cool things on the hike. First we came across an American Box Turtle. We were very suprised to come across a turtle that high up, we were at 2800 elevation, no where near water. But Mommy looked it up on the internet when we got home and found out they are land turtles and don’t have to be near water. It was super cool!!!

DSCN4890

Next I found a medal hanging in one of the trees. Nobody else saw it except me, I had Daddy turn around and get it for me. The medal says Winner on it, I have been wearing it all the time, even to bed at night!!!

DSCN4891

We certainly had a great visit with Pop-Pop and are glad he decided to make the trek down here. It is so nice to have people come and visit us here in Tennessee!

One last thing I wanted to share is this cute video of Paige and I. Last night we were playing in the basement and Paige was in her Jolly Jumper and I was on my trampoline, we were having lots of fun jumping together!

Well that is all for now, time for my nap! Next time you hear from us my Gigi will be here. She is coming in just 5 days, we can’t wait for her visit!

Take care y’all,

Emmie and Paige

More fun and exciting times…

We had a small break in between visitors from Canada and during that time we managed to take off on a family hike. We went up to Roan Mountain State Park and did a really nice walk, but it was really hot!!! Luckily there is a big swimming pool at the Park and Mommy and Daddy took us for swim, it was a perfect day!

On the last blog post I didn’t have room to share everything I had been up to but there is one thing I must share. A few days before Erica, Jay and Heidi arrived, Daddy took me on a Daddy & Daughter date night with Fisher and his Daddy, Chris. Guess where he took me…to the Monster Truck Races, yes you did read it right! It was awesome I loved it, the trucks were huge and loud but it was super cool.

Now take a close look at the picture below, see the guy and his son in the tie-dye t-shirt. Yes, they both have crazy mullets that match eachother and the Dad is holding an even younger little boy that has the same thing, yikes!!!

DSC_0092

I got a big suprise on Tuesday this week, Pop-Pop came all the way from Canada to see us on his motorcycle. Since he is retired and Granny still has to work he just decided to make the long trip by himself, it took him two days. I was super excited to see him. The day after he arrived we made a day trip out to Gatlinburg to check out a few more things that we didn’t get around to, when the Silva’s were here. We went up the mountain at Ober Gatlinburg and at the top is a whole world of fun things.

I got to go skating for the very first time and I loved it. I can’t wait to move back to Canada so I can take skating lessons just like Mommy and Daddy did as kids.

DSCN4773

I also got to go on a bunch of kiddie rides, I think my favorite was the carousel, I went on it twice!

DSCN4778

DSCN4796

DSCN4794

We also got to go further up the mountain on a ski chair lift and come back down the mountain on a concrete slide. It was really neat. Pop-Pop and Daddy and I went up together and I came down on the slide with Daddy. On our way up we even got to see a black bear come out of the bushes to greet us!!! I also got to go on this twice because Mommy wanted to have a turn, so back up we went.

DSCN4799

DSCN4805

DSCN4807

Baby Paige did a whole lot of sleeping while we were outside, it was super hot out and I think she figured she might as well catch some zzz’s because she wasn’t big enough to go on these rides.

DSCN4801

Oh I forgot to mention how we got up to the top of the mountain where all the rides were. We got to take a big huge gondola. It fits over 100 people and it was such a nice way to see the views over Gatlinburg.

DSCN4810

DSCN4815

We had an awesome day in Gatlinburg, thanks to Pop-Pop for treating us to the day out!!!

I am getting a little tired, even though there is so much more I want to share with you. We have been doing lots of fun things with Pop-Pop but I think I will post them in my next post. The last thing I must share is this super cute picture of my baby sister. She is trying to mimic daddy with her very own doctor outfit. Our cousin Gail bought this for her when she was born and she is finally big enough to wear it, isn’t it adorable!!!

Good night y’all,
