Vacation Time – Paradise Island, Bahamas

The time finally came for us to go on our much needed vacation. We are so lucky that we were able to get away with Gigi, Unlce Ryan and Mommy & Daddy. We went to the coolest place on earth….really, I am not kidding! We went to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas and it had everything a little kid could want. Thanks to Gigi and Papa who treated us to this vacation as our family Christmas gift!

Here we are at the Toronto International Aiport waiting for our plane, it was a really big plane.

When we got to the Bahamas the weather was very nice and warm, it was like this every single day! Our first day was spent checking out a whole bunch of the aquariums and lagoons at the resort and of course floating in the lazy river and playing in the kids pool!

Our resort was across from this really nice Marina Village with lots of little shops and restaurants. In the evenings we would head over there for some ice cream and to participate in the singing and dancing shows they put on just for us kids. It was lots of fun!

Our resort had tons of waterslides and there were 11 pools, I think we tried out almost every one. My favorite was the kiddie waterpark. They had 3 waterslides I could go on all by myself, I played there for hours every day, it was the best!

Check out this video of my going down the waterslide!

Not only did our resort have aquariums, lagoons and a huge waterpark, it was also on the ocean and had a really nice sand beach. We spent one morning at the beach and we swam in the ocean and made sand castles! I really enjoyed making sand castles with Daddy, he makes cool castles. Now Paige loved the ocean waves and she enjoyed relaxing with Gigi by the water.

We went into the town of Nassau a few times to do some shopping, have dinner and go to this really neat Pirates Museum. The Museum was lots of fun, one of my favorite things that we did on our vacation. It was based on the Pirate Blackbeard!

One night we had dinner at a family style BBQ restaurant that made us feel a little bit like we were back in Tennessee! The BBQ food was fantastic and there was so much food…all of us couldn’t come close to finishing it all!

One of our last nights at the resort Daddy got out his good camera and we walked around taking night shots. He did a great job and got some really nice pics!!!

Guess what I got to do…I got to feed sea turtles and stingrays, I even touched a sting ray. To top it all off I also got to see a whole bunch of dolphins, they were doing tricks and jumping out of the water. I love dolphins!!! Silly Paige tried to feed the sea turtles her sippy cup…

When we got back from the Bahama’s the weather was not very nice, it was kind of cold and just a few days after getting home we woke up to a whole bunch of white stuff…for those of you that don’t know what I am talking about, it is called snow! Apparently here in Ottawa we are going to get lots of snow this winter. I was so excited I couldn’t wait to get outside and play. Lita got Paige and I all bundled up and out we went!

Well, I am a little tired, it has been a busy day. We decorated the inside and the outside of our house today for Christmas, then I had skating, then we went out for a nice dinner with Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie and the evening was topped off with the Santa Clause Parade of lights, now it is time for bed!

Congratulations Auntie Carrie & Uncle Brodie!

The big day for Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie has finally come and what a fantastic day it was. Our weekend was filled with wedding events, first it was mani/pedi’s, then the rehearsal dinner and then the wedding. Our entire family was in the wedding; Daddy was the Best Man, Mommy was a Bridesmaid and Paige and I were flower girls along with Sophie. We all looked beautiful and we had so much fun. Everyone kept telling me what a great job I did walking down the isle, I did exactly what I was told. Sorry no pics tonight of the ceremony, we were all al little too busy, we can’t wait to see the pictures the photographer got. We do however have some to share from the rest of the day/night!

CIMG4411  CIMG4438  CIMG4449CIMG4454 CIMG4512CIMG4463  CIMG4469We did lots of dancing at the wedding, the music was great and everyone was having a blast. Mommy and Daddy let us stay up until 10:30pm, then we got to go on a big yellow school bus with Gigi back to our hotel while everyone stayed out even later to party some more. I think they were all feeling a little tired this morning and they kept using the word “Hungover”, not sure what that means!!! CIMG4439

I have so many other pictures to share that we have taken over the past few weeks. We have once again been very busy and just haven’t had the time to blog, but I guess better late than never! Here are some pictures from Halloween night. Paige and I were really lucky we had Gigi and Pop-Pop & Granny in town to spend halloween night. They all came out with us tricker or treating, it was a beautiful night, not nearly as nice as what we are use to in Tennessee but not bad for a Canadian halloween night. I dressed up as Snow White and Paige was Tinkerbell…we got lots of neighbors telling us how cute we both were, I think our costumes were a hit! Our neighborhood was really busy for halloween night, we got 120 people at our door!CIMG4396

CIMG4410 CIMG4397 CIMG4399 CIMG4401

Check out the pumpkin in this picture, who does it look like…Tinkerbell maybe! Daddy carved this pumpkin for Paige and I and he did a great job. We carved 5 pumpkins the night before halloween, Granny and Pop-Pop brought us 4 from the family farm in Mallorytown, which meant we all got to carve our own pumpkin! CIMG4404

The weather was really nice when Gigi and Granny & Pop-Pop were in town to visit, so we made sure to get outside and play. We helped Daddy clean up all the leaves on our front lawn! When we were done playing we got to go in and warm up but Daddy and Pop-Pop stayed out to get our yard winter ready, something we aren’t use to doing!!! Canadian winter here we come…

CIMG4390 CIMG4389

We also got to have some fun one morning at the mall down the street. We all headed out to see a Live My Little Pony show, it was so neat. There were three of the Ponies there; Twilight, Rainbow Dash and AppleJack, they sang and danced, Paige and I loved every minute of it!

Over the past few weeks I have been taking skating lessons at a local arena. My first day on the ice was tough, I had troubles standing but by lesson #3, I could move on my own, turn in a circle and get up and down, everyone says I am doing great. Here are a few pics Mommy took on lesson #2…Daddy is on the ice with me to help!

CIMG4351 CIMG4357 CIMG4358 CIMG4360

Mommy has been working really long hours lately, her work is swamped right now. But she made it up to Paige and I one night last week, she came home and we spent the evening baking our favorite things. We made cupcakes and peanut butter cookies, they were all very yummy!

CIMG4366 CIMG4365

Since Mommy has had to work so much lately, Gigi decided to come down and spend some time here and help out around the house. We all appreciate Gigi’s help, I know it makes Mommy feel better knowing that she can always count on her! Thanks Gigi!!!

Well, that is all for now, time to get ready for bed. Hope everyone has a great week. Next time I blog will be after our vacation to the Bahamas, this time next weekend we will be relaxing at our resort, we can’t wait!

Love y’all,
Emmie & Paige
