Guess who is turning 4???

Can you guess who is turning 4 in just a few hours…it’s me! I am so lucky to get to celebrate my birthday with so many friends and family. Last weekend we had a nice visit from Auntie Amy and Auntie Sarah, they came all the way to Ottawa to wish me a happy birthday and bring me some really nice presents!!! It was so much fun to get to hang out and play with them, they even babysat Paige and I for a little bit so Mommy could get some running around done while Daddy worked, they were pretty great babysitters. We played hide and go seek, dress up and colouring!

We had two busy weekends in a row…this weekend we packed up and headed north to Sudbury. It had been a really long time since we had seen all of our family up there. It was quite a long drive but definitely worth it. We had a great time on Saturday hanging out with all the cousins and Great Granny. I also got a really big surprise, they had a birthday party for me on Saturday night. Auntie Shirley made me a cupcake “cake” shaped in the number “4”, since that is how old I will be and everybody sang me happy birthday and I got tons of really awesome presents. It was fantastic! Thanks so much to all my family for being so wonderful, miss you guys already!

I was really lucky on Saturday night to get to have a sleepover at Karsen and Konner’s house. Konner and I slept in his room, he is going to be 4 just like me!!! We played hockey and all sorts of fun games, it was a great visit.

It is always tough, as Mommy would say, when we travel to Sudbury because there are so many people she wants to see and just not enough time. We did manage to also visit with Great-Grandma Nancy and Gary, it was nice to see them again and fill them in on all we have been up to. Mommy gets all nostalgic when we go to their house, she tells me lots of stories of what her and Uncle Ryan use to do there!!! Paige and I also got to open presents on this visit, we are two very lucky girls, thanks!

Our last stop in town was at the Caruso Club where we had a very yummy lunch with mommy’s friend Nadine. Mommy and Nadine kept reminiscing about when they were younger, sounds like they were really good friends and had some great times! Nadine told me she was going to plan a trip to visit us in Ottawa…I hope she makes it!!!

Well that is all for now, I must get to bed and start dreaming about what it will be like when I am 4 years old because when I wake up in the morning I will be 4!

Good night y’all,

Emmie and Paige

There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found...

Just a quick update tonight. I am very excited! A few days ago, Lita, Paige and I made a snowman in the backyard. I named him frosty after my favorite snowman ever! Every day I have been looking outside to see if he "came to life"! Check out the pics! When I woke up from my nap today he had moved!

And here is a video daddy got of my reaction!

Cool eh!?

Happy New Year ~ Welcome 2012!

It is hard to believe Christmas has come and gone and we are already two weeks into 2012. We had a low key evening on New Year’s Eve…Daddy had to work but Uncle Ryan came to Ottawa on the train and Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie came over with Sophie. We had a nice dinner that Mommy made and then we just played and played and played! I tried to stay up until midnight but fell asleep at 10:45 beside Mommy on the couch. Lucky for me she woke me up just in time to see the ball drop in NYC, so cool! I can’t wait to go to NYC one day and celebrate new years!

When Daddy got home the next day on the 1st we got to celebrate our overdue Christmas with Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie. Lucky for all of us little kiddos we all got some really nice gifts! It was great to get to spend some time with them, believe it or not we live really close now but we still don’t see them that much, everyone is just super busy!

Not sure if many of you know…but it is like we live in the North Pole now that we are in Ottawa. There is so much snow and there has been a couple of days this past week that is was –31 C, that means it is freezing cold! But don’t worry we have lots of warm clothes and snowsuits and we have been having lots of fun playing outside. I actually started my new skating class this week, it is lots of fun and I am getting so much better, I am the one the bright pink hockey helmet!

Now that we are into a new year, Mommy and Daddy decided Paige is no longer a baby but instead she is a big girl…they took one side off of her crib so she can learn to sleep in a bed! She has done a great job, only fell out a few times and today Daddy will be putting together her very own double bed, she is really excited!

One last picture Daddy took the other night is of Paige and I playing with our make-up/hair Princess vanities. You might remember that Santa brought us one vanity for Christmas but it was missing a part, so Gigi called Santa and asked if he could ship us the part…then magically the other day a huge box showed up at our door in Ottawa and it had a whole new vanity in it, I guess Santa misunderstood! Now we have two which is kind of nice, now we don’t have to share this toy!!!

Well, hope everyone stays warm this weekend, it is –29 C here today…I have dance class and I think we are going to go to the library, should be a fun day!

Love y’all,

Emmie and Paige
