A visit with Granny and Pop-Pop

It has been 5 long months since we have seen Granny and Pop-Pop, they don’t like winter so they stay where it is nice and warm, Arizona and California…I think they are very lucky! They arrived a week ago and we have been very busy hanging out and having fun. Here we are in our new Princess pyjamas that they bought us for Easter.

We had a busy weekend when they first arrived…our family had signed up to participate in a 5K run on Saturday for the Trot 4 Tots and a 5K walk on Sunday for the March of Dimes. Both of them were done on behalf of daddy’s work ETSU Pediatrics and they were held on the grounds behind the hospital. We were very lucky that the weather cooperated both days and it was beautiful. We ran the 5K race in 37 mins and we were the first stroller/kids to cross the line!

 

For the March of Dimes walk they were raising money for the premature NICU babies which as most of you know means a lot to my daddy since he has decided to pursue a career in neonatology. They had tons of fun things set up for kids to do before the walk. Our friends the Lowery’s and the Farr’s joined us, it was a great day!

   

Since the weather was so nice we decided to get all packed up on Monday and head to Dollywood, it was so much fun. There was barely anybody there and we got to go on so many rides, including the fun water rides, I think everyone had a great time! I hope we get to go back one more time before we move…hint, hint!!!!

Paige and I each got to ride in one of the old fashion cars with Granny and Pop-Pop it was really cool!

I got to ride on a kids roller coaster with both Mommy and Daddy, it was super fast and lots of fun.

Then Mommy and Daddy got to be big kids for a few mins and ride some big roller coasters, if you look close enough at the pic below you can see them on the wooden roller coaster!  

I also got to spend some time this week with my friends Fisher and Ella, their babysitter hurt herself so Mommy helped out by watching them for 2 days. One afternoon while they were here we got all dressed in bathing suits and played outside in the sprinkler and water table!

 

Our weather has been really weird lately, one day it is super nice and the next it is rainy and kind of cold. So on one of the not so nice days we went to Wallabies indoor play center and Paige and I got to show Granny and Pop-Pop all the fun things we like to do there. I think they were quite amazed at the lack of fear in me…!!!

 

Since mommy and daddy have grandparents here they took advantage one night and went out with some of their friends and by the sounds of it they had a great time! It is nice for them to have a night out, I think Paige and I can be handful sometimes…!!!

I know this has been a long post so I will finish off with just a few last pictures. Last night it was a beautiful evening so we went out to the park and watched Pop-Pop fly his model airplane and helicopter, it was really neat! Check out the nice picture Granny got of the four of us walking out into the sunset!!!

 

Granny and Pop-Pop treated us out to dinner tonight so Paige and I decided we would get all dolled up in some of our new dresses, everyone kept telling us how cute we looked!

Emmie and Paige

It is Always fun when Gigi comes to visit!

Gigi spent the entire week here with us and we had so much fun with her. The weather was not nearly as nice as it has been but that didn’t stop us from having a blast. It was spring break from my school so I got to spend everyday with Gigi.  One day we baked some brownies…daddy was very excited when he got home from work, he loves brownies! Paige even got in on the action and helped me clean out the bowl, it was so yummy!!!

Lucky for me, I am really good at brushing my teeth so it is okay if I have a chocolately treat every once in a while! I actually had my very first dentist appointment this week and it was so much fun. My dentist is really nice and everyone kept telling what a “good girl” I was! I have no cavities and my teeth look great!!!

I actually had a couple of first time “big girl” moments when Gigi was here visiting…I went to the dentist and I got to go to my very first sleepover. One of my best friends Kayla was turning 5 and I went to her sleepover birthday party. It was so much fun, I loved it. I was the last one of the 4 girls to fall asleep and I was the first one up…it was a very fun birthday party!

One day we decided to pack up and head to Pigeon Forge for a night, it is such a fun place. Poor Daddy had to work and wasn’t able to come with us, but that didn’t stop us from having fun! We went to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Aquarium which is fantastic. The last time we were there with our cousin’s the Silva’s, Paige was just a little baby, this time she really enjoyed it. Both Paige and Gigi were in awe looking at all the cool fish!!!

I think my favorite was the penguins, they are so neat!

For those of you that have never been, Pigeon Forge is kind of like Niagara Falls but much bigger and better. There are huge outlets for shopping, lots of kids rides, restaurants and dinner shows. We managed to get on the wait list for “Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede” dinner show and luckily they were able to squeeze us in. It was fantastic, it was so cool! We had to eat with our fingers (no utensils), we got to cheer for the South and wave the American flag!!!

After our fun day in Pigeon Forge we got a hotel, had a great sleep and when we woke in the morning we got to the waterpark in the hotel, it was awesome. I went down the big kid waterslides all by myself, Mommy and Gigi were really excited for me! No pics though, we were all in the water and didn’t have anyone to snap a photo, I guess you will just have to imagine how much fun it was!!! After the waterpark we packed up and went to the outlets to shop and I must say, Gigi and Mommy really do know how to shop…Paige and I were exhausted and we were so happy when we got to sit down for some lunch!

Sadly all our fun came to an end today when Gigi had to catch her plane to fly back to Canada. We really didn’t want her to go but she had to get back to Papa and Uncle Ryan, they miss her! We are going to miss not having her here but she will be back in just 6 weeks, let the countdown begin…The only good thing about today was going to the airport and watching the planes from the observation deck outside!!!

We tried to catch a picture of Paige walking today but we could never seem to get the camera to snap it at the right time. Paige woke up this morning and decided she would start to try walking before Gigi left. I guess she wanted Gigi to experience a first for her as well…she has been standing a little on her own the past few days and taking one step but today she took a couple between Gigi and Mommy, she did it a few times as well! I think she will be running before we know it.
